1977 is a memorable year for me; it’s the year I first saw Star Wars. I recall sitting in the theater, in total awe at what I was seeing take place before me on that giant silver screen. As each new character, creature, or spacecraft appeared, I was transported deeper into that “galaxy far, far away.” On that day, I was hooked, and I have been a fan ever since.
Fast forward to Halloween… I wasn’t satisfied with getting a Star Wars costume that came in a box from the dime store; I had to have a more “accurate” Darth Vader costume. So, I scrapped together cardboard, balsa wood, foam, and other materials to construct my own. While it wasn’t perfect, it was enough to throw me into the world of costuming.
Then, The Empire Strikes Back came out and my new obsession would be to build a Boba Fett costume…
