Beat It Up…
Time to make it look battle-worn…
To get the damage positioned correctly, I printed out the paint templates…
I used a soft pencil to color on the back where the damage spot is.
I then drew around the damaged area…
Which, transfers the mark to the Cod Plate.
All of the damage marked.
Testing a new technique for creating the damage; a heat gun. The heat gun doesn’t really work that great since the heat isn’t as concentrated as when using a soldering iron. If you are needing alter large areas, a heat gun would probably work, though.
Using the soldering iron to smooth the inside seam.
Using the soldering iron to create the damaged areas on the front…
Damaged areas blocked in.
I also tried using the soldering iron to smooth the outside seam, a bit, too. This seems to help fill in the pits and make an even stronger joint.
