Some quick smoothing and another coat…

Did some wet sanding with fine sand paper…

Then, applied a second coat of silver base paint.

Fourth coat of primer applied. Once dry, this piece should now be ready for silver base paint.

This Primer…

I’ll be glad when I can get some more primer from Harbor Freight. This Rustoleum primer just tends to create more problems than it solves…

There seemed to be some sort of “reaction” between the primer and the glazing putty. Where ever the putty was applied a little thicker, the primer below it started crazing (cracking). So, I used a medium grit sand paper and took it all down to almost the bare plastic, or the better primer…

Almost Feels Like Back To Square One…

The Rustoleum primer just doesn’t create a very smooth surface after sanding, so I had to add more glazing putty…

What Is With This Primer?

Trying to wet sand this Rustoleum primer isn’t enjoyable. Unlike the Harbor Freight “sandable” primer, the Rustoleum tends to “gum up” and doesn’t feather very well. Needless to say, I’m not real happy with this product…

I ended up having to go back to dry sand paper…

I ran out of my “sandable” primer that I got at Harbor Freight, so I’m trying out this Rustoleum primer that’s supposed to “bond to plastic”.
