Jawa – CA-87 Ion Blaster – Sound/Light Circuit, Continued

New & Improved…

My small gauge wire arrived, so I can now work on completing the Sound/Light Circuit installation. The first thing I need to do is remove the speaker from the original sound board…

The speaker, rewired to fit the new holder…

I hot glued the speaker in place…

Then, the brass tube was cut down to the correct length…

I also added the wire for the LEDs..

The trigger button got wires added…

Then, I installed the trigger assembly into the Stock using silicone adhesive. I’m hoping this will hold it, yet make it easy to remove if needed…

I will be using the magazine portion of the blaster to hold the sound board, and battery holder, I decided I needed to add in a connector. So, I went ahead and wired it up to the sound board, as well…

Jawa – CA-87 Ion Blaster – Sound/Light Circuit, Continued

New & Improved…

I had to order some small gauge wire to complete the Sound/Light Circuit installation, but in the meantime I can at least get all of the LEDs installed…

After all of the LEDs were installed, I bent the leads over to hold them in place…

And, all of the positive leads were wired together…

A quick test, and we have eight working LEDs..

Major Jawa Revamp…

Since my cadet outgrew his Jawa outfit and has began wearing his Mudtrooper outfit, my wife was wanting to start wearing it. So, I’m revamping all of the parts to fit her. The larger size should also fit my cadet, if he wants to switch over to a Jawa at a troop, as well…

I bought two bottles of dark brown dye, and redyed the monk cloth. This color should now be fine…

Jawa #2 – Face Mask & Robe

Major Jawa Revamp…

Since my cadet outgrew his Jawa outfit and has began wearing his Mudtrooper outfit, my wife was wanting to start wearing it. So, I’m revamping all of the parts to fit her. The larger size should also fit my cadet, if he wants to switch over to a Jawa at a troop, as well…

The hat that I used for my son’s costume used a child sized hat, so I bought an adult size hat…

Then, removed the bill…

Luckily, the existing Face Mask fit my wife, so I can just reuse that part. I drilled out the rivets that held the Face Mask portion to the hat…

Then, I riveted the Face Mask to the bigger hat…

And, stitched the wiring and battery holder to the hat…

Then, the black cloth was hot glued to the hat…

The revised Face mask…

A while back, I had started accumulating items to make a Jawa costume for my wife. When my son outgrew his costume, I was hoping it would fit my wife. But, that wasn’t the case, so luckily I had bought this monk cloth…

To prep it for dying, the raw edges need to be secured with a quick zig zag stitch…

Both raw edges zig zag stitched…

Monk cloth in the washing machine. Almost ready to dye…

When I bought the monk cloth, I also bought some dye. So, time to get that all mixed up…

Dying, complete, but the color looks WAY too orange. I believe it’s because, at the time, I was only able to find the brown in powdered dye. I will need to get more brown, and do a redye…
