Helmet v2.0 – Metal Reinforcement

Time To Get Into Shape

I’ve chosen to use a brass ring to reinforce the back portion of the helmet, and a flat aluminum bar for the cheeks.

Left cheek.
Right cheek.

Roughed up the vinyl with my dremel to give the epoxy something to grab.

The brass ring and plastic epoxy that will be used.

Measured (twice) and cut (once) the brass ring to fit the back of the helmet.

Placed the brass ring into position and then applied some plastic epoxy to make sure it stays in that position.

Cut the aluminum bar to fit the cheek areas, and bent them slightly to fit the contours of the interior of the helmet.

Lots of glue, and lots of clamps. Just need to let this dry…
