Removing The Paint
Time to see how tough the paint is to remove from the harder plastic.
I used a medium grit sandpaper and tried some light sanding. The silver “damage” paint comes off fairly easily. The base paint is a bit tougher. I’m not really too worried to remove it. as long as I can get a smooth final finish, I’m OK with it. I did notice that while sanding, it was exposing the highs & lows of the molded plastic (high areas look lighter where dark areas are the low spots).
