When You Have A Perfect Sized Kid…
My youngest was tired of wearing the “store bought” Star Wars costumes and wanted something “cool” to wear this year. I suggested a Jawa, and he was elated:
This was 100% made from scratch. We bought the cloth and dyed it the correct color. Built the mask and light-up eyes from a Halloween hockey mask and gumball machine prize containers. The belts and holster are made of faux leather. The gun began as a halloween pirate gun to which I added some plumbing parts.
Since my time was fairly limited this year, I wasn’t able to make it 100% screen accurate, but I can always replace things as I improve them. All in all, he was happy with it, so that’s all that really matters.
