Let’s Do This…
Now that the glue has dried on the second Boot, I can trim off the excess vinyl…
Excess vinyl removed…
And the lace area trimmed back…
I then glued the thin strip to the front of one Boot, and used painters tape to help hold it in place…
And, then did the second Boot, as well…
For the Boot tubes, there is one inch Velcro that is used for the closure…
Before I can attach the Velcro, I need to do some trimming at the top hem…
I trimmed off the excess vinyl, just below the stitch line…
Both tops, trimmed…
The loop thing needs to go here, and looks to have about one half of an inch exposed…
Here’s after the first pass through the sewing machine…
And, after the second pass…
Now, both tubes have the Velcro attached to the outside flap…
Both tubes now have both types of Velcro attached…
I found this template for the “dog bone” on the PathFinders forum. I had to resize a few times, in order to get it to fit my specific Boots…
You want the “dog bone” to just barely touch the thin strip that runs around the front of the Boot…
Once I got the size correct, I traced the template onto the vinyl…
And cut them out…
I then marked the lines that need to be stitched at each edge…
Doing the closest to the edge, first…
Then, the second one…
The lines were used as guides to stitch the lines on the sewing machine…
