More Fire Power…
Day twelve of printing begins now…

Next will be the second section of the “barrel”…

While my printer is busy, I’m going to start working on getting the rough parts smoothed out. The first pass is with my oscillating tool and the heavy sanding pad.

Once it was fairly smooth, I switched over to a sandpaper pad.

The final result…

The same process was used on this piece. Here, is just after the heavy sanding pad…

And, here is after the sandpaper pad.

I also mounted up the four separate pieces that make up the main body of the rifle, and glued them together. Here, it’s all clamped up while it dries…

The second section of the “barrel” fully printed…

The second section of the “barrel” removed from the build plate…

I noticed the first section of the “barrel” didn’t fully print. I’m thinking the print file was truncated, or something. Anyway, I created a new file, with just the part that didn’t get printed, and started it printing…

The end of the first section of the “barrel” fully printed.
These pieces took almost twelve hours of printing, today.
