Prep Work…

The long process of smoothing out all of the print lines is complete…

The scope parts and barrel assembly still had a lot of low spots that I wasn’t happy with. So, I applied more full strength plastic metal to the problem areas…

Then, I began wet sanding with 220 and 500 grit sandpaper. During this process, the plastic metal started “flaking” off here and there. I’m guessing that it really didn’t like being applied over the semi-gloss black. It seems to react to it, so note to self is to always do all filling with plastic metal during the primer stage…

For the barrel assembly, I just went back to dry sanding with 220 and 500 grit sandpaper. This seemed to work better at this stage …
