Scout Trooper – Gloves – Reconstruction, Continued

Let’s Make These Screen Accurate…

The gloves are proving to be a bigger challenge than anticipated…

The tediousness needed to get all of these layers aligned is really grating on my last nerve…

One side, finally stitched.

Now, I just have to get the other side to match…

More tediousness…

And, finally, success…

I now have the center, and bot end lines stitched. Now, I just have to run a stitch down the center of each side, while stretching the elastic…

Easier said than done. You really need to be an octopus to be able to do this…

One side done…

And, the other side done. I now have four knuckle ribs…

The knuckle piece will get reattached to the finger top assembly…

I ended up using painters tape to help hold things in place…

The pieces, sewn together…

A quick comparison of of the original Glove, and my mods so far..

I now need to add the piece of suede to the thumb.

To do that, I’ll need to rip open the seam.

Here, the thumb seam has been ripped open.

I then sketched out the shape of the suede piece.

I finally got the correct size & shape, and cut out a cardboard template…

Using the new template, I cut a piece of suede…

Then the suede got stitched onto the thumb…

The suede piece also gets a design stitched across it…

I used a needle & thread to tack the thumb pieces back together…

Then, I used the sewing machine to do the final stitching…

The fingers, knuckles, and thumb part of the Glove is now done…

Now, on to the gauntlet portion…

The existing gauntlet is completely wrong, and is way too short. So, I’ll just be deleting them and building new ones from scratch…
